Policies
Welcome to our Policies page! Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about booking and working with Alvarez Canine Academy. These guidelines are designed to ensure the best experience for you and your dog.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
At Alvarez Canine Academy, we understand that life happens, and schedules can change. However, cancellations impact our ability to serve other clients and plan effectively.
Training Sessions and Consultations:
- Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior will result in a $50 cancellation fee, charged to the card on file.
Board-and-Train Programs:
- A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure your booking.
- Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the program start date will forfeit the deposit.
Daycare and Boarding:
- Changes or cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance.
- Cancellations within 7 days of the reservation will result in a charge equal to 50% of the booking fee.
No-Shows:
- Failure to show up for a scheduled session, consultation, or boarding drop-off without prior notice will result in a full charge for the session or booking.
Payment Terms
We ask for payment at the start of services so we can focus entirely on your dog’s training. For board-and-train programs, a 25% non-refundable deposit secures your spot, with the balance due on the first day of training. Payments are due in full at the time of booking for consultations and one-on-one sessions.
Liability Waiver
Working with dogs is rewarding but involves some inherent risks. By signing our liability waiver, you acknowledge this while trusting us to provide a safe and controlled environment for your dog.
Vaccination & Health Requirements
For the safety of all our clients, dogs must be up-to-date on core vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. A current Bordetella vaccine is required for boarding services. Proof of vaccination is required at the time of booking. Please also ensure your dog is free of illnesses or parasites before their visit.
Behavioral Concerns
If your dog has specific behavioral challenges—like anxiety or aggression—let us know during your consultation. We want to create a training plan that fits their unique needs.
Drop-off & Pick-up Policy
We aim to make drop-offs and pick-ups as smooth as possible. Just schedule ahead, and if you’re running late, let us know—though fees may apply for long delays. Punctuality helps us maintain an efficient schedule for all clients. For boarding, we’ll guide you on what to bring so your dog feels right at home.
Boarding Requirements
We want your dog to feel comfortable during their stay, so they’ll need to be crate-trained and come with everything they need, like food and medications. Personal items are optional but should be minimal to avoid loss.
Privacy Policy
Your trust matters to us. Any contact information you share will only be used for communication about your dog’s care. We don’t share it with anyone else—ever.
Training Progress Updates
We believe in keeping you informed every step of the way. For board-and-train programs, we provide weekly progress updates through videos, photos, or detailed reports. This transparency ensures you can see your dog’s achievements and feel confident in their growth.
Follow-Up Support
Your journey doesn’t end when training does. All our board-and-train programs include one complimentary follow-up session within 30 days to reinforce skills, answer questions, or tweak your routine. Ongoing support options are available, too! Need extra support? We’re just a call or email away.
Client Feedback and Reviews
We love hearing from you! If our services exceeded your expectations, we’d be grateful for a testimonial to share with future clients. If you have concerns, please contact us directly—we’re committed to making things right.
